The 404 Install Standard

The same five steps on every job, written down.

Shop bay or driveway, one tire or a fleet, this is how we do the work. We publish it so you know what you're paying for, and so you can hold us to it.

  1. Careful mounting on low-profile equipment

Mounted on equipment built for low-profile tires, so your wheels and tires come back unmarked.

    • We inspect each wheel and tire for damage before we start and tell you about anything we find.
    • Our tire machine is set up for low-profile, run-flat and staggered setups, and nothing metal touches the rim face.
    • Wheels are protected where they're clamped, and bead lubricant is used on every tire.
  2. Precision balancing

Every wheel balanced on a calibrated machine, with weights placed where they don't show.

    • Every wheel is balanced on a calibrated machine and re-spun to confirm it's within spec.
    • Stick-on weights are hidden behind the spokes where the wheel design allows.
    • If a vibration points to a bent wheel or a tire problem, we show you the reading instead of hiding it with extra weight.
  3. Lug nuts torqued by hand to spec

No impact guns on final torque. Every lug is finished with a calibrated torque wrench.

    • Lugs are snugged in a star pattern, then torqued by hand to your vehicle's specification.
    • We check hub and lug seat condition and clean mating surfaces so the wheel seats flat.
    • The torque value we used goes on your job record.
  4. TPMS relearn

Your tire pressure light is off and every sensor is reporting before you leave.

    • We read each sensor before and after the job, so a dead sensor is caught on our time, not yours.
    • Sensors get a new valve core and seal when the tire comes off.
    • We run the relearn your vehicle needs and set pressures to the door placard (or your chosen spec for track and show cars).
  5. Photo record and a free re-torque check

Photos of the work, the torque spec and pressures, sent to you. Then a free re-torque check.

    • You get photos of each wheel, the torque value, tire pressures and DOT dates by text or email.
    • After 50 to 100 miles, come by or catch us on a mobile visit for a free re-torque check.
    • If something isn't right, the record shows exactly what was done, so we can make it right quickly.
